General Information
- The Bemidji Speedskating Club practices short track indoors at the Neilson-Reise Ice Arena (next to the curling club) until the end of February (Map).
- Typically, practice is held on Sunday afternoons from 4:15 to 5:15 PM.
- The club has approx. 25 skaters who range in age from 5 to 88.
- During the winter, the Bemidji Speedskating Club also practices outdoors on a 400 m lake oval on Lake Bemidji.
- Summer training begins in May.
- "Learn-to-Skate" now has a "Learn-to-Speedskate" badge program available. It's a great way to get started.

Phone (218) 444-3884Chantal was a member of the 1994 US Olympic Speedskating Team, and has been coaching the Bemidji Speedskating Club (Pioneer Speedskating) for the last couple of years. The Pioneer Club had been training short track only until last year, when the Hampton Inn purchased the Zamboni (Big Oly) that was formerly at the John Rose Oval. The team trained last season on Lake Bemidji and they had good ice until late March 2007.
